Requirements and Restrictions

There are requirements and restrictions with Allocations requests. Please review the requirements and restrictions BEFORE submitting your request.

Individual Conferences Requirements: 

1. The conference must be related to the individual’s major, minor, and/or leadership development.

2. The requester must provide detailed travel plans (including full itinerary with timeline and financial breakdown).

3. The requester must provide names of the venue(s) for the conference.

4. The requester must provide the names and biographies of the speakers and performers at the conference.

5. Every Kent State University Undergraduate is entitled to a maximum of $1,500 per academic year for individual conferences.

6. The conference must have either 2+ schools attending or 7+ organizations in attendance.

7. The conference must have an agenda, which you will provide a link to below.

Individual Conferences Restrictions:

1. Religious activity.

2. Events with discriminatory or restricted attendance. (Any undergraduate student at Kent State must be able to attend).

3. Partisan campaigning activities (i.e. rallies).

4. Recruitment programs.

5. Class requirements.

Student Organization Conference Requirements:

1. The requesting organization must be registered as a Kent State University Undergraduate Student organization .

2. The requesting organization must not have restrictive membership.

3. The requesting organization must provide detailed travel plans (including full itinerary with timeline and financial breakdown).

4. The requesting organization must provide names of the venue(s) for the conference.

5. The requesting organization must provide the names and biographies of the speakers and performers at the conference.

6. Every Kent State University Undergraduate Student Organization is entitled to a maximum of $4,000 per academic year for conferences.

7. The conference must have either 2+ schools attending or 7+ organizations in attendance.

8. The conference must have an agenda, which you will provide a link to below.  

Student Organization Conference Restrictions:

1. Religious activity.

Student Organization Programming Requirements:

1. PLEASE NOTE: If your event requires any kind of contract or payment of a person or business outside of Kent State University, you must meet with Katie Syvanych, Associate Director, Center for Student Involvement at kgoldrin@kent.edu. 

2. The requesting organization must be registered as a Kent State University Undergraduate Student organization .

3. The requesting organization may have restrictive membership, however the organization may only request funds for cultural or educational programs open to the entire student body.

4. Every Kent State University Undergraduate Student organization  is entitled to a maximum of $10,000 per academic term for  programming.

Student Organization Programming Restrictions:

1. Competitive Prizes or Individual Prizes for contests/games of chance

2. Funding recurrent organization publication
